German Phase II eMagazine Issue #6 -out now!
« on: October 18, 2012, 12:41:20 pm »
Hi, everyone.

Sorry for my long absence but I`m back.

The 6th issue of the German "Phase 2 Deutschland" eMagzine has been released on Tuesday, 17th October 2012.

I feel a little guilty for not having released anything in 2011 but lots of the articles have either not been written by then or not translated.

This issue also deals with James Cawley`s decision to step down from the iconic role of "Kirk" by including translations of the old "How Elvis saved Star Trek" articles from US-eMags no. 2, 3 and 4 all combined into one article. Also thanks to Jaime "Fez" for giving us permission to translate his interviews with the "new" Captain Kirk, Brian Gross and "Uhura", Jasmin Pearce.

Also included is the complete interview done by Henning Koonert and his collegues of "Trekzone.de" website when they interviewed James in 2010 at FedCon XIX Convention in Bonn.

To proper say "Good-bye" to James as the lead-actor of the show, the German Translator-Department (Andreas Becker, Michael Kuhn and myself) and our own Klingon - John Carrigan -  wrote a 10-page article in which we all wrote about our first meetings with James and what we enjoyed about his portrayl of "Captain Kirk".

Translations:
* How Elvis saved Star Trek
* Interview with Brian Gross (courtesy of "Fez")
* Open a channel with.... Jasmin Pearce (courtesy of "Fez")
* Fanfiction story "Missing in Action" written by Patty Wright; translation by Michael Kuhn
* The Tellarite lives (courtesy of Larry Nemecek; translation from his Blog)

Original articles:
* A Trekker`s introduction - by me
* That`s your last take, James Cawley (written by M. Kuhn, A. Becker, J. Carrigan and myself)
* James Cawley-Interview from FedCon XIX - presented by TrekZone.de

also:
* the early version of my own "The Child"-Poster
* "Gold-Key"-Style "Kitumba"-Poster

Congratulations Stephan for putting together a great and interesting eMagazine.

I read through it last night, after putting it online, and it is full of well written articles which will really interest our German speaking audience.

I particularly enjoyed your article about James as it describes his time in Germany and I was there, too.

Have you considered releasing your original articles in English as well?

Well done!

Peter

Well, Peter, it IS a huge article - 10 pages!

At least John Carrigans Part we`ve got already in English  ;) so maybe shortening my part - I basically analysed every episode and mentioned what I enjyed most of James` performacenes - might be possible.

I´ll think about it!   :groucho:
