Shatner suggestion for new Pluto moon name

It will be interesting to see if they actually name it Vulcan, since it won the vote.

I thought the same, but hey, Pluto has the name of a Disney's character, right?

No, seriously, in fact I completelly forgot that Vulcan was a Roman god, so I don't see why they wouldn't name it Vulcan,

In ancient Roman religion and myth, Vulcan (Latin: Vulcanus) is the god of fire including the fire of volcanoes. Vulcan is often depicted with a blacksmith's hammer read the whole definition.

I would understand they would not name it Q'onos, but Vulcan is a legitimate name if they only name planets and asteroids as Roman and Greek gods. Perhaps that will change when they start naming planets from a different system (I don't know if they have already started to do so, I'm going to check it).

They could name it Delta Vega.  Apparently, you can put something with that name anywhere.

Delta Vega would have been ideal for the other moon as according to the movie, Delta Vega and Vulcan are close together.

By convention, the name has to come from either Roman or Greek mythology which both Romulus and Vulcan do.
I'm fairly certain however that Qo'noS does not 

Despite the polls, I wouldn't be surprised if the powers-that-be ultimately decide to give it a name more astronomically appropriate.

Well Kronos was Zeus's father, the youngest of the titans, so it definately has the Greek connection.

That won't happen,  since Delta Vega, by convention, is a body associated with the star Vega. JJ's astronomy is, um, wrong by any measure.

Give credit where credit is due.  Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are the ones who decided to put Delta Vega in the Vulcan system.  (no lie, they actually thought Trekkies would like it)  JJ had likely never even heard of Detla Vega before they put that into the script.    So, if you let those guys name Pluto's moons, they can apparently name them whatever they want.  Fortunately, though, NASA will be doing the final naming and they'll handle things more logically than that.

I even had a set fixed in a frame and given to Siddig for an auction at a convention he was going to for his favorite charity.
